Make a decorative tree 3D

Once I saw these beautiful tree dies in the Decorative Trees bundle, I knew I had to make one of the die cuts three-dimensional in one of my designs

I finally had the time to do exactly that!

I cropped three separate (but same design) tree dies from Pretty Peacock card stock. Once I stacked them all together, I adhered the right side of one to the left side of the other – and did the same on both sides.

I used two different dies from the Spotlight on Nature Dies and cropped the circles from two different patterns of the Thoughtful Journey DSP. These served as great backdrops for the 3D tree.

I added a little sparkle to the focal image with a strand of Gold trim and a few Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems.

Here are the measurements for this quick project…

Basic White (Thick) CS: 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″
Thoughtful Journey DSP: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (trim this piece AFTER cropping circle from 6×6 DSP print)
Basic White CS: 5″ x 3 3/4″

Here is the quick step-by-step for this project…

Trim all layers as noted above
Crop a large circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies with the Lost Lagoon background print from the Thoughtful Journey DSP
Trim the same Lost Lagoon print for the base layer
Crop a second (same size) circle from the Pretty Peacock background print
Crop a smaller circle die from Basic White card stock
Stamp the sentiment on the smaller circle die cut
Adhere the trimmed DSP layer to the card base and the Basic White layer to the DSP
Arrange and adhere the three die cut circles to the card front
Loop the gold trim and adhere to the lower circle
Adhere the 3D tree die cut (see above for assembling the tree) over the gold trim
Add a few Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems to the 3D tree and a couple of Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems to the card front
