Seaside Wishes - 3 of 4 Easy Techniques

This Seaside Wishes and Hybrid Embossing Folder has been sitting on my shelf for the longest time! Not sure why, but so happy that I finally opened it up and started playing with it!

In case you are not familiar with the phrase ‘hybrid’, it simply means that the embossing folder and dies can work simultaneously (or separately). I just love how simple it is and how much time it saves.

I was in the mood for a technique the other day and it seems that one prompted another and then another. This project will showcase the third of four quick and easy techniques… Kissing!

This project’s technique is a pretty easy one! Kissing is just the action of inking up your stamp and then adding a bit extra ink to only certain areas of the stamp before you place it to paper. Most times, you would use a second color for the additional color, but in my case, I wanted to keep the palette very natural and by adding more of the same color (Pecan Pie), it gave it a little more dimension.

I used one of my favorite prints from the Country Woods DSP and kept the color coordination to Pool Party, Pecan Pie and White.

I used a die from the Nested Essentials Dies and cropped from both Basic White and Pecan Pie card stock for the sentiment tag.

Here are the quick measurements for this project…

Basic White (Thick) CS: 11″ x 4 1/4″ and score at 5 1/2″
Pecan Pie CS: 5 1/4″ x 4″
Country Woods DSP: 5″ x 3 3/4″

Here is the quick step-by-step for this project…

Trim all layers as noted above
Adhere the Pecan Pie layer to the card base
Adhere the DSP layer to the card stock layer
Stamp one large shell in Pool Party ink and crop with die
Stamp one small shell and two starfish in Pecan Pie ink and crop with dies (use the Kissing technique to add more color to the outer rim of image).
Crop one medium outline die and one seaweed die from Pecan Pie card stock
Stamp the sentiment on Basic White card stock in Pecan Pie ink and crop with Nested Essentials Dies
Using same die, crop from Pecan Pie card stock
Trim the white tag to appear slightly shorter than the Pecan Pie tag, adhere together and then to the DSP layer
Arrange the die cuts how you wish and adhere to the lower right portion of card front
Using your Pecan Pie Blends Marker, color a strand of twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack and make a bow to adhere to the sentiment tag
Add a few Neutrals Adhesive-backed sequins
