This Seaside Wishes and Hybrid Embossing Folder has been sitting on my shelf for the longest time! Not sure why, but so happy that I finally opened it up and started playing with it!

In case you are not familiar with the phrase ‘hybrid’, it simply means that the embossing folder and dies can work simultaneously (or separately). I just love how simple it is and how much time it saves.

I was in the mood for a technique today and it seems one prompted another and then another. This project will showcase the first of four quick and easy techniques… Inking Up Your Embossing Folder!

Actually, this project showcased two separate easy techniques. The first one was inking up the embossing folder before running it through the cut & emboss machine. I used Bubble Bath ink for this technique.

TIP: Be sure to use the side of the embossing folder with the Stampin’ Up! logo. A quick run under warm water will clean the embossing folder for next time.

Technique #2 – Sponge Daubers!

The next quick technique I did with this card is to add some ink color (Calypso Coral) with a sponge dauber to the stamp before stamping the second time (first time was with Basic Beige for the solid image).

TIP: If you are into saving some time, check out the pics below to see how I was able to stamp the images in the exact position needed to crop with the dies for a perfect die cut and no waste of paper.

1. Place stamps in the corresponding dies within the Stamparatus (or other stamp positioning tool)

2. Stamp as usual (in this case, add some additional color with sponge dauber)

3. Place the die over the stamped images and crop with the cut & emboss machine

4. This particular die crops three separate images. I used the third die cut as the sentiment tag

Here are the quick measurements for this project…

• Basic White (Thick) CS: 11″ x 4 1/4″ and score at 5 1/2″
• Basic Beige CS: 5 1/4″ x 4″
• Basic White CS: 5″ x 3 3/4″
