To Mask Or Not To Mask!

The reason I love this Layers of Beauty bundle so much is that you always have the option – To Mask or Not To Mask! The decorative masks are included in the bundle – bonus! So, it’s really just depends on your mood that day! Today, I have two projects for you… both created with watercoloring; one done with the decorative masks and the other just stamping with a little watercoloring.

You can find this bundle on page 57 of the new Annual Catalog! The only thing you need to remember when using these masks is to make a mark on the notch that is located in the upper left corner of each mask. This way, you are sure to be building the focal image from bottom to top… in the same space.

The Anniversary card above was created by water coloring on top of each of the masks. I used Fresh Freesia, Pretty in Pink and Highland Heather for the flowers and Soft Sea Foam and Garden Green for the leaves.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto a scrap of Fresh Freesia and cropped it with a die from the Unbounded Love Dies. I cropped a few sprigs from Basic White card stock and added a touch of watercolored ink with Soft Sea Foam ink. I also used the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder with Fresh Freesia card stock for a background layer.

Here are the quick measurements for this project:

Basic White (Thick) CS: 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″
Fresh Freesia CS: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (embossed layer)
Fluid 100 Watercolor CS: 5″ x 3 3/4″

No Mask for this next one… This next project was done by stamping the image in Basic Beige ink and then watercoloring with Lemon Lolly, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Calypso Coral ink.

I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink, trimmed around the words and then split the sentiment in two before adding to the card front.

I added a little splatter drops from Calypso Coral ink and a few Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems to the card front to finish it up!

Basic White (thick) CS: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″
Pretty Peacock CS: 5 1/4″ x 4″
Shimmery White CS (retired): 5″ x 3 3/4″
