Sympathy Card With Simple Watercoloring!

The reason I love this Layers of Beauty bundle so much is that you always have the option use the masks or the stamps. The decorative masks are included in the bundle -bonus! You can find this bundle on page 57 of the new Annual Catalog! Today’s project involves heat embossing and watercoloring!

I actually needed (unfortunately) a Sympathy Card this week, so I borrowed a sentiment from the Hope You Know stamp set. This stamp set was carried over into the new 2024-25 Annual Catalog and can be found on page 85.

I heat embossed the large floral image on Shimmer White (discontinued) card stock. You can use the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper too, but I like the Shimmer paper as it is not as heavy as the watercolor paper and works just as well. I used Peach Pie, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist to add the watercolor.

I cropped a large die from the Countryside Corners Dies and lightly brushed it (Blending Brush) with Peach Pie ink for a subtle color to the background layer.

I stamped the sentiment in Basic Beige ink onto Basic White card stock, cropped it with a small die from the Countryside Corners Dies and added it to the lower portion of the card front with Dimensionals. I also added a beautiful sentiment from the stamp set to the inside of the card (I forgot to take a photo of the inside sentiment before I sent it 🙁 ).

I added a few In Color (Peach Pie) Shimmer Gems to the card front.

Here are the basic measurements for this project:

Basic White (thick) CS: 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″
Peach Pie CS: 5 1/4″ x 4″
