Pull Tab For Best Reveal - Hooray For Surprises

Welcome to another project in this NEW PRODUCT SHOWCASE – HOORAY FOR SURPRISES BUNDLE from the new JAN – APR ’24 MINI CATALOG!

I am having so much fun with this HOORAY FOR SURPRISES BUNDLE. The biggest SURPRISE with this bundle are the dies, which make these fun little tear-away elements so that the sentiment can be hidden until the recipient ‘pulls’ or ‘opens here’ for the big reveal!

The Hooray For Surprises bundle can be found on page 13 of the Jan – Apr 2024 Mini Catalog!

I am also loving the sentiments and images included… all of them can definitely be used for several special occasions… all year round!

I used the brand new Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder to make this card front really pop! It’s just one of several elements used that makes this project so special.

Here are the measurements for this project:

Basic White (Thick) CS: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Basic Black CS: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Sunny Days DSP (SAB): 5 1/4″ x 4″
Daffodil Delight CS & Basic White CS (template): 5″ x 3 3/4″
Basic White 1 3/4″ x 1″

Here is the step-by-step for this project:

Trim all layers as noted above
Adhere the Basic Black card stock layer to the card base
Run the Daffodil Delight card stock layer through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder
Run both the Basic White (template) layer and the embossed Daffodil Delight layer through the emboss machine with the long perforated die (see photo-upper left)
Place a piece of Basic White scrap (see photo-upper right) (or you can use another full 5″ x 3 3/4″ layer) behind the template layer and stamp the sentiment in the negative space of the template die cut (see photo-but note that I only pulled the tab open to show the sentiment placement. The perforated edge should stay in place for the recipient to pull)
Adhere the sentiment layer to the back of the embossed card stock layer
Adhere embossed/stamped layer to DSP layer (Sunny Days DSP is a Sale-A-Bration item you can earn for free)
Wrap a strand of the black Baker’s Twine around the DSP and embossed layers and tie a bow
Adhere all layers to Basic Black layer on card base
Crop the ‘dotted’ heart from Daffodil Delight scrap and the ‘solid’ heart from Basic Black scrap and adhere together
Adhere both hearts to card front with dimensionals
Stamp the sentiment in Memento Black ink onto the small Basic White trimmed tag and adhere with dimensionals to card front
Stamp the ‘pull’ image onto a scrap of Basic White in Memento Black ink, trim closely to letters and adhere to far right portion of the perforated die cut
Add a few Adhesive-backed Speckled Gems to the card front

Using these perforated dies does take a little getting used to and is just a bit more work, but I definitely think it is totally worth it once you see the end results.
