A Merriest Fun Fold

This fun fold project was really just about layering… with a little twist on the actual stamped image of the large tree. I used the negative space to create the image without any white lines in between the sections of the tree.

I cropped the large tree with the largest tree die from a large piece of scrap, then using the negative space as a stencil, I placed the stencil over the trimmed Basic White layer. Using a Blending Brush, I added Balmy Blue ink to the negative space and got my desired image.

I stamped the detailed tree image in full strength with Balmy Blue ink over solid image for the details of the tree to pop!

Once you get the scoring done, it is really just a case of layering up the flaps with the trimmed designer series paper layers. The focal image layer is the stamped Basic White layer adhered to the Balmy Blue CS and then wrapped with a strand of Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.

The key is to just adhere one side of the layers to the inside and outside flaps so that the flaps open alternatively. The sentiment tag was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and then layered on top of a trimmed layer of Pretty Peacock card stock.

Basic White (Thick) CS: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 1 1/2″ & 5 3/4″
Balmy Blue CS: 4 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
Basic White CS: 4 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
DSP: 5 1/4″ x 2 1/2″, 5 1/4″ x 1 1/4″
Basic White (tag): 2 7/8″ x 1/2″
Pretty Peacock CS: 2 7/8″ x 1 5/8″
