Two Ways To Use Elegant Border Dies With Translucent Florals

Two Ways To Use Elegant Border Dies With The New Translucent Florals Stamp Set!

I used the Elegant Border Dies (Online Exclusive Item #161953) to create two simple but beautiful designs with the Translucent Florals Stamp Set (#162243). You can find this stamp set on page 56 of the new catalog!

These stamped images are magical! They leave the most beautiful ‘translucent’ image on several flowers and leaves. TIP: Less is more when stamping with these images. I know my ink pads are fairly new and very juicy, but I found that just placing the stamp on top of the pad, and with just a few taps on the block, your image stamps beautifully.

These Elegant Border Dies are available as on Online Exclusive, which means you will not find it in the catalog as they are only available online. However, you can see them in action on page 73 of the 2023-24 Annual Catalog.

For this first design, I used the Elegant Border Dies as shown here. It is just a case of placing the cut edge toward the inside of the card front or to the outer edge of the card front. You will notice with this one, even though we cut through to make the card front layer more narrow, it left a beautiful embossed layer on the edge. TIP: I did insert an acrylic sheet inside the card (under the die) so that the die wouldn’t cut through completely on the backside of the card base.

I used the Scalloped Contour Dies as a base layer for my focal image. I achieved the watercolor backwash by simply adding some watered down ink with my Water Painter and then stamping the image over it.

For this next card, I cropped with the die as shown below to achieve this beautiful scalloped edge with lots of intricate detail to the card front.

I used the Deckled Rectangle Dies to crop the focal image layer. Before adhering the stamped layer to the card front, I used my Water Painter to add a few specs of Lost Lagoon ink to the card front.

Here are the measurements for this project: (both projects use the same simple measurements)

  • Basic White (Thick) CS: 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored at 5 1/2″
  • Basic White CS: Large scrap pieces for die cut layers

I hope you liked today’s projects! Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and have a wonderful week!
