This month, the theme is Create Your Own Background. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I love this month’s theme for our July 2022 Pals Blog Hop! Stampin’ Up! has so many tools that can be used to create gorgeous backgrounds for your projects.
I chose to use our Masking Paper to create my background and focal image today!
I am also using the beautiful Cottage Rose bundle from the Abigail Rose Suite, which can be found on pages 56 and 57 of the new 2022-23 Annual Catalog.
Here’s the step-by-step:
- Trim a piece of Soft Succulent CS to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″
- Run one of the large dies from the Deckled Rectangle Dies through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with a piece of Masking Paper trimmed to 5-1/4″ x 4″. Set aside the center piece for the next step.
- Stamp the large floral image onto the scrap of Masking Paper and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the coordinating die from this set
- Trim a piece of Shimmery White CS to 5-1/4″ x 4″
- Lay the Masking Paper ‘frame’ over the Shimmery White CS
- Stamp the large floral image in Memento Black ink onto the center of the Shimmery White CS
- Place the Masking Paper die cut over the floral image
- Use a Blending Brush to fill in the center space with ink color
- Remove both the frame and die cut Masking Paper to reveal the focal image and border
- Using a sponge dauber, add a little color to the inside of the flower
- Stamp the sentiment onto Shimmery White CS and trim
- Wrap the lower card front with In Color Open Weave Ribbon and tie a bow
- Add a strand of Very Vanilla Twine from the Essentials Pack
- Adhere card front to card base
- Add a few 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds to card front
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 10th. Our theme will be Seasons’ Greetings, where we will showcase projects inspired by our favorite seasonal time of the year.
Until then, have fun in your craft space.
