LOLLYPOP PAPER AND INK

Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder & Die

This is the first of three projects I created using three different techniques with the new Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is amazing! It is a ‘hybrid’ folder, which means that it will emboss and crop with just one run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine!

You can view the step by step for each technique I used by watching the YouTube video below. But I can give you the basics of each one and how I used the folder and die by showing you each project.

This is what the Twigs & Sprigs 3D Embossing Folder and Die looks like and you can find it on page 177 of the Stampin’ Up! 2022-23 Annual Catalog!

The stamp set that was used for all three projects was from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

Technique #1

This was our first project. We embossed the Soft Succulent layer with the embossing folder first. We used the Craft Ink and just dabbed the raised image lightly for the desired effect. We put the inked layer aside to give it time to dry and then put the card together after completing the first two projects.

Technique #2

The second card design was done by inking up the inside top part of the folder as shown below:

We used another new embossing folder for the focal image layer and that one is called Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folders – it’s a two folder set. After inking up the inside top part of the folder, we ran a layer of Basic White card stock inside the folder through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the die. We added some light ink blotches by using a Water Painter. We framed our focal images with the large frame from the Fabulous Frames Dies.

The (inked) die cut pieces were then added to the card front to build a bouquet and a bow was made with the Bakers Twine Essential Pack.

Technique #3

Our third project was created by inking up the inside bottom part of the embossing folder as shown below.

After inking up the folder, we ran a piece of trimmed (5 x 3 3/4) Basic White card stock inside the folder and through the embossing machine. It was fun to distress the edges of the layer and then wrap some individual strands of the Bakers Twine Essential Pack into a (background) circle and into a bow.

We used a Water Painter and ink to fill in some color on a blank, basic white die cut on one of the many leaf/branch raided images that were cropped from the one large die.

We stamped the sentiment directly on the ribbon! Yes! This is our new Natural Finish Ribbon and it stamps flawlessly!

My original samples were all done in the Soft Succulent color, but the actual cards that were created during the video were all done in the Fresh Freesia Color! Do you have a preference? I would love to know… just leave a comment here on the blog!

Now that you have the techniques down pat, check out the YouTube video to get the measurements and the step-by-step! And… if you comment on or share my YouTube video (either on YouTube or on my Facebook page:  (facebook.com/lollypoppaper), you will have a chance to receive one of these sets of cards that we created today! Good luck!

I hope you liked today’s projects! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and I hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. I somehow completely missed this EF in the new catalog. Each of these cards is unique and beautiful! I prefer the card trio done with Soft Succulent because they look very natural. I will confess that I am not much of a fan of purple shades anyway. Thank you for sharing these lovely cards!
