Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today everyone is Irish… so now you have a reason to celebrate!

A quick history lesson on why today is special! On March 17, Irish and Irish Americans commemorate the death, as legend has it, of Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who died on March 17, around 492. But mainly, people today honor Irish heritage and its rich culture and traditions. Cities all over the U.S. celebrate with parades and festivities.

My married name is definitely Italian (not Portuguese as some people assume), but believe me, there is more Irish in me than you would know… McCabe, Linton, Lynch, etc… all on my mother’s side!

So today, in honor of my grandmother (McCabe), I’ve created this adorable St. Pat’s card with just a few heart dies (Sweet Hearts Dies) and a mix of all my favorite Green DSP!

I re-created this project during my Facebook Live this week (Tuesdays at Two) and held on to it to post today in honor of St. Patrick’s Day! Wondering how I got that shadow effect behind the leaves? I stamped the heart images from the Sweet Conversations bundle four times on Basic White card stock and then layered (trimmed to the same size) a piece of the Vellum Layering Designs over it and adhered it with a few Mini Glue Dots (placed where I knew the die cuts would cover).

I used the smaller heart dies (Sweet Hearts Dies) from the same bundle and folded them in half so that one side is completely lifted for some added dimension. Using the smaller die allowed for the larger stamped image to peek out and the Vellum softened the images… enough to look like a shadow!
