A Mammogram Saved My Life
Since this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you to make that appointment for your Mammogram! Some of you may know that I am a Breast Cancer Survivor and I can tell you without a shred of a doubt… making that routine Mammogram appointment saved my life!
In my case, there was no lump, no pain, no discoloration… no signs there for me to think something was brewing! But it was there and it was brewing and because of that early detection, I am blessed to say that I am a survivor.
Here are seven facts about Mammograms:
- Mammography is the most accurate method of Breast Cancer detection.
- Mammography can detect Breast Cancer before a lump can be felt.
- Regular Mammograms and Breast exams increase your Breast Cancer survival rate.
- A Mammogram appointment doesn’t take long.
- Mammogram pain or discomfort is minimal (if you experience any at all).
- There are two main types of Mammograms performed today, 2D and 3D.
- Women should start getting Mammograms at age 40.
I feel blessed to be a survivor. I personally have known many women that were not so lucky. Please don’t put it off. Make your appointment today!
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, my shopping incentive this month will be a roll of our beautiful Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon. Any order – any amount! Your ribbon will arrive mid-November!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a wonderful day!
