Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Sentiment as a focal point.” We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
The September Pals Blog Hop is all about the sentiment as the focal point this month! You may be looking at my card and saying, ‘Well that’s not much of a sentiment focal point’ and you would be correct in that the sentiment is small in contrast to the large tree images above it.
I am using the sentiment for the message it is sending… not so much for the physical presence on the card front!
I love the message of letting your heart be light! Especially around the holidays, there are many people out there that cannot relate to the usual messages of love, family and friends for whatever reason. But I think no matter what your circumstances, you can always be in control of your own light within.
This card was really quick and easy to get together! The stamps and dies in the Whimsical Trees bundle make for designing super simple to truly whimsical and elaborate card projects!
I used the new Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder for the beautiful embossed background layer and cropped a few trees from Mint Macaron card stock. I stamped and cropped the focal image tree and the leaf spread in Gray Granite ink.
The two layers of designer series paper are from the Whimsy & Wonder DSP and one is layered directly on to the embossed layer and the other is popped up with some dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped in Gray Granite and a few Silver Metallic Pearls were added to the card front for a little extra interest.
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 13th. Our theme will be Fantastic Fun Folds and 3D Projects when participants showcase fun fold cards or 3D items that will be great for any occasion. Until then, have fun in your craft space.
