I love to be able to get two different designs with just one simple technique. These beautiful dies from the Intricate Leaves Dies were perfect for this technique.
My first step was to crop three single leaf dies from the set and place them over a layer of Basic White card stock. Next was to use my Blending Brushes in several different (soft) colors, which I brushed softly over all three die cuts.
Now I had my choice as to what to do with the three cropped images and the Basic White layer with the negative space lightly colored.
I trimmed around one single image from the negative space colored layer and mounted it on an embossed piece (Meadow Moments Embossing Folder) of Old Olive card stock. I used the sentiment from the Sweet As A Peach stamp set and wrapped a single strand of Linen Thread for a simple accent to the focal image.
My second project from this technique was just as easy! I simply arranged the three cropped (and colored) images over a wide layer of Cinnamon Cider card stock and mounted the focal image over a piece of wood grain DSP. I used another single strand of Linen Thread to make a bow and then all the layers were mounted to the background layer of Cinnamon Cider card stock.
I added a few 2020-22 In Color Gems (Cinnamon Cider) for added interest to the project and decided I loved the simplicity of it, even without a sentiment placed on the card front. I can decide on a sentiment for the inside of the card when I know exactly what the occasion is!
I hope you liked today’s card projects! Thanks for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a wonderful day!
