July Pal’s Blog Hop – Wonderful Cards from the Garden

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Wonderful Cards/Projects from the Garden” where our design team showcase projects from things found in a garden, such as flowers, vegetables, fruits, or even a garden scene. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Once you finish here, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My first thoughts when I found out that this month’s Pals Blog Hop was about beautiful things we associate with our gardens, this stamp set was top on my list. It is called the Garden Birdhouses stamp set and can be found on page 107 of the 2021-22 Annual Catalog!

To me, there is nothing better than sharing the beauty and fragrance of my garden flowers with some feathery friends! And as you can see here, they don’t even have to be real flowers!

For this project, I did use a few extra products in addition to the Garden Birdhouses stamp set. I used the Watercolor Shapes stamp set for the Balmy Blue background for the birdhouse and I used a die from the Scalloped Contour Dies to crop out a top layer in order to highlight the focal image.

To add some interest to the all white top layer, I embossed one side of it with the Dandelions 3D Embossing Folder and popped up the entire layer with a few pieces cut from the Foam Adhesive Sheets (these sheets make for a great time saver  instead of loading up with individual dimensionals)!

The sentiment was stamped with Smoky Slate ink to match the coloring of the birdhouse (which was done with Stampin’ Blends) and the birdhouse roof and birdie were colored in with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends!

The finishing touch was a few Silver Metallic Pearls added around the card front.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team, because the Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 11th. Our theme will be “My Happiest Season” when our Design Team creates a project showcase projects inspired by their favorite season of the year. Until then, have fun in your craft space.

  1. I love the little focal section. That is a great idea. When added to the embossed top layer you have a gorgeous card!
