LOLLYPOP PAPER AND INK

Artistically Inked Slimline Card & Envelope

This was my first attempt at a slimline card and all I can say is…why did I wait so long!!! I think my first thought was (and always is) how will I mail it? Well, it turns out that it will fit in a business sized envelope… or you can make a custom envelope to match … that is just as easy and will make the card giving even more enjoyable!

And that is exactly what I did during my Facebook Live last week. You can see the YouTube video replay at the end of the post for the step-by-step!

I featured the Artistically Inked Bundle for this project mainly for that gorgeous background stamp that is in the set and also for the beautiful dies that both work wonderfully for a card of this size.

The card  measurements are as follows:

  • Basic White (Thick) CS Base: 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – scored at 3 3/4″
  • Pale Papaya CS: 8 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
  • Basic White CS: 8″ x 3 1/4″

The custom envelope was made from one basic 11″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock. I used Pale Papaya to coordinate with the colors used for the card. Here are the scoring directions for the envelope:

  • On the 8 1/2″ side – score at 2 1/2″ and 6 1/2″
  • On the 11″ side – score at 1 1/2″ and 10 1/2″

Here is the YouTube video of the Facebook Live replay from last week! Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card projects and will give a slimline card and custom envelope a try! Have a wonderful day!

  1. Love your card Lori! I’ve been doing slimline for over a year.
I really like the mini slimline. SU should get on board with the trend and supply envelopes for these sizes.
I did slimline Christmas cards last year and I had responses from all over the country.
One guy in Ohio was totally intrigued with the envelope…….of all things.
Once you get the hang of the dimensions, you are off and running with creativity.
One can buy slimline envelopes on line.
    Do more Lori!

  2. I love the card and immediately noticed the custom envelope. I look forward to watching your youtube video. That has been my hesitation on making this size card. I found some plain business envelopes but the quality doesn’t match a beautiful SU card.
