Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for “Layer It Up” – showcasing our favorite Designer Series Paper and embellishments. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
My choice to showcase one of our beautiful DSPs is the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper! This particular print has the Mossy Meadow and Copper Foil accents that play beautifully with each other. I have to say that Mossy Meadow is my go-to Christmas green!
This design is from the Christmas Gleaming Bundle which consists of the stamp set and two beautiful ornament punches.
My layers here consisted of a Mossy Meadow card base with a Very Vanilla top layer and then the Mossy Meadow pattern/print from the Brightly Gleaming DSP. I cropped a large circle and a small square from Very Vanilla using the Stitched Shapes Dies. I also cropped a small circle using the 1 1/2″ circle punch from the Mossy Meadow card stock.
I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto the small stitched square. I stamped the large leaf image in Mossy Meadow onto the large stitched circle. I attached the stamped circle to the DSP layer using Snail Adhesive.
Using the two ornament punches from the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack, I cropped out both the large ornament and small ornament from two different prints from the Brightly Gleaming DSP. And then I cropped the smaller ornament again from Vellum card stock.
I adhered the stamped sentiment square to the lower right corner of the DSP layer. I adhered the larger ornament die cut to the left side of the stamped circle with dimensionals. I layered the two smaller ornaments (DSP & Vellum) over the Mossy Meadow cropped circle and used a hole punch on all three layers. I ran a small strand of Copper Trim through the hole and then attached the grouping to the right side of the large ornament using dimensionals.
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! The green is beautiful and a great showcase for the ornaments.
Beautiful card, Lori! I love how you used the vellum!
Really liked the added ornament layer! And the holly leaves behind the first ornament. Well done, Pal!
What a clever idea Lori. Love it!
Such a sweet card, Lori! Love the layers of DSP and the touch of velum.
The stamped leaves behind the ornaments is a great idea.
