LOLLYPOP PAPER AND INK

Perfectly Plaid In Coin Envelope

Stampin'Up! Stampinup! Perfectly Plaid Bundle with Wrapped In Plaid DSP Christmas Cheer card by Lori Pinto1

I am loving this Wrapped In Plaid Suite! I was intrigued with the coin envelope that I saw on page 12 of the Holiday Catalog. I wanted something similar, but one that I could slide a card in and out of it easily. I love how this one turned out!

I used a piece of the Wrapped In Plaid DSP and cropped the tree image with the Tree Punch that is included in the Perfectly Plaid Bundle. The cropped out tree image was layered on top of a stitched circle from Shaded Spruce card stock. I used the same DSP for a trim piece on the insert card front, which was also mounted on Shaded Spruce card stock.

The card front was stamped in Cherry Cobbler using one of the beautiful sentiments from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set.

The colors were right out of the DSP… Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce. I embellished the outer envelope with a simple wrap around and bow with the Shaded Spruce/Gold Trimmed Ribbon.

You can see a video tutorial I did for this project on my Facebook Live HERE!

Here’s a little breakdown on how I made the envelope:

  • Start with a piece of card stock trimmed to 9 1/4″ x 6″
  • Score (long side) at 1/2″
  • Score (short side) at 2 1/4″
  • Turn card stock 180 degrees and score (short side) at 2 3/4″
  • Snip into the score lines on the 1/2″ scored side and remove both end tabs
  • Snip the center tab at an angle on both sides of the tab
  • Fold and adhere the ends to form the coin envelope
  • Use a 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to make an opening for the card front

I hope you liked today’s card.

This card is one of five that is included in my October Holiday Bundle Class. This month we are featuring the Perfectly Plaid Bundle.
