I was experimenting with a fun bleaching technique recently for a class I was doing on techniques and learned a few things myself! Love when that happens!
This is so simple and the results (although will vary each time) come out so pretty!
First, let me say I used the beautiful Seaside Notions stamp set and stamped in Stazon Ink! This is a must when you are using watercolor and bleach! I did a very simple watercolor technique as a background.
For this background, I used the cling wrap with Stampin’ Write Markers technique. (So simple… just lay a piece of cling wrap over your watercolor (or Shimmery Paper as I used here), color on top of the cling paper with your markers, take the cling away, spritz your paper well, lay the inked side of the cling wrap back over the paper and smooth out the ink to your desired effect).
Once your background is dry, stamp your images and sentiment in Stazon Ink. Now comes the magic! Use a fine tip paintbrush or an empty Aqua Painter with a dry tip and dip it into a bit of bleach. Paint over the image and wait for the magic! So cool, right?
I fancied it up a little with a strip of lace that I cropped from the Stitched Lace Dies and added a strip of ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo and a bow made with Linen Thread!
I hope you give this technique a try. It was so much fun and turned out so pretty!
