Welcome to the Pals’ May Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects with “More Than One Score.” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I loved this month’s challenge to showcase projects featuring fun folds or 3D items! An added challenge was to use as much retiring products as possible. Well, I used the retiring Lemon Zest Stamp Set, the Lemon Builder Punch and the Garden Impressions DSP! It’s time to say goodbye to all of these beautiful products come June 3rd!
This was a quick little notecard holder to put together! Just add a few of our Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes and give it to someone special!
I used So Saffron card stock as my base for the box. It was a 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece and it was scored at the 1 1/4″ mark on both long sides. Then it was turned and scored at 1″, 2 1/4″, 6, and 7 1/4″. After folding on all the score marks, I trimmed along the sides up to the 1 1/4″ mark.
After I assembled the box, I cut two pieces of Garden Impressions DSP into 2″ x 6 strips. I also trimmed two more pieces at 2″ x 1 1/4″. Then I adhered them to the front and sides of the box.
I stamped a few lemons in So Saffron ink and then cropped with the Lemon Builder Punch. Then I used my Leaf Punch to crop a few leaf sprigs from Pear Pizzazz card stock.
I added the Flax Ribbon around the box and tied a bow to the left side. Then the fun part… just grouped my stamped and cropped images for a lovely focal image and placed on the right side of the box.
I hope you liked my Pal’s Blog Hop project this month!

Neat, I love the pop of color with the dsp.
Lori, I love your notecard box! And, I’ll miss the lemons!
So clean & fresh looking. I can almost smell those lemons. Great project!
Great box! Thanks for the directions to make it! Perfect for gift giving! Love your color choices too!
What a sweet note card holder. I’ve never seen this one before!
Oh, love this cute box! I will be keeping the lemon stamp set and punch because my daughter loves it so much. She’d be so upset if she couldn’t use it after it retired! Great project!
I love this note card holder because it’s a thoughtful gift for a friend.
Thanks, Vicki!
Great use of retiring products Lori. Perfect extra gift to have on hand.
Such a cute combination of new and retiring! I REALLY think I need this set now! Thanks for sharing!
I’m a huge fan of boxes and yours is darling!
Love these lemons and the pretty paper! Lovely way to decorate a great box style!! TFS, Lori…
Very nice. Always love your creations.
Nice! I like how you paired the Lemon with that DSP.
Thanks, Lisa Ann!
Love this box ,just what I was looking for thanks
Thanks, Margaret!
Love this box but what size cards do they hold?
My cards are 5×61/2 . Would these fit into this box.
Hi Donna,
This box would hold the standard (A2) cards – 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 with envelopes as the total width of the box is only 6″.
