Just Not Ready For Holiday Cards….

Since I’m not really a Christmas in July (or August for that matter) kind of girl, I decided to challenge myself to see how many non-holiday projects I can create using the beautiful products from the 2018 Holiday Catalog. I have so many ideas in my head for non-holiday ideas, but I promise to get into the Holiday spirit soon. 😉

For my first non-holiday card, I chose the Farmhouse Christmas Stamp Set and Bundle, which included the Farmhouse Framelits Dies (at 10% off). I paired it with the Festive Farmhouse DSP and the Healing Hugs Stamp Set for the sentiment.

I used my Cherry Cobbler combination Blends pack to color in the truck, with accent colors of Pumpkin Pie and Gray Granite.

The frametlits dies in this set are so versatile. I cropped the tree in Gray Granite to pick up the color of the DSP and also cropped a scrap of Gray Granite to add a little bit of ground surface underneath the car. In order to accommodate my non-holiday theme, I simply cut off the tip of the Christmas tree from the back of the truck after cropping out the image to make it look more like hay or corn and gave it more of a harvest color.

I used the ‘quick recovery’ sentiment from the Healing Hugs Stamp Set, stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink and mounted the tag (from the thinlits set) on Pumpkin Pie card stock for a pop of color. I dyed a strand of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine using my Pumpkin Pie Blends Marker and tied a bow through one of the buttons from the True Gentlemen Buttons pack. TIP: You can use any color Blends markers to dye white solid baker’s twine to match any color in your design.
