I saw this card on Pinterest from a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Rachel Tessman and I had to give it a try! It uses the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies to both crop the butterfly image and also emboss the background floral image.

I used one of the Mango Melody sheets from the Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ DSP Stack to layer with a 1/8″ margin onto the Whisper White card base. I picked this color because I thought it would make for a pretty under-layer for the butterfly. I trimmed a piece of Mango Melody cardstock to 4″ x 5-1/2″ and ran it through the Big Shot with the large butterfly thinlit from the Springtime Impressions set. I also ran a piece of Vellum card stock through with the same thinlit for a soft layer between the butterfly image and the background DSP.

Next, was to use my Big Shot Embossing Mats to emboss the entire left side/corner of the die cut layer. I made the Big Shot sandwich by placing the platform, thin die adaptor, clear plate, card stock with die (die is underneath card stock and face up), blue mat and white impressions pad (white). Run it through the Big Shot for a perfect embossed layer!

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Detailed With Love Stamp Set in VersaMark ink so that I could heat emboss it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I layered the embossed card stock layer onto the DSP layer. I adhered the Vellum card stock to the butterfly using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, running it just up the body of the butterfly to keep a little lift in the wings. Then used the pen again to adhere both layers of butterfly to the DSP layer, again keeping the wings free to move.

I finished the project with a few simple Basic Pearls.
