This card is from the Flying Home Stamp Set available on January 3rd from the new 2018 Occasions Catalog!
The adorable images in this set all are perfect to color in with the new Stampin’ Blends! The Blends that I used were Pool Party (light and dark), Crumb Cake (light and dark) and Old Olive (light and dark). It’s true what they say….. coloring is so therapeutic!
After I stamped the birds/nest image in Memento Black ink, I used a baby wipe – dipping it in the Pool Party ink to just dap all around the image for a softer background effect!
The sentiment is from another new stamp set, called Perennial Birthday. This set is loaded with pretty images and sentiments for birthdays year round. I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink.
I used the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and just embossed the right half of a strip of 3″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White so that it would sit to the side of the raised focal image.
I cropped out the focal image using my Layering Squares Framelits Dies with both Whisper White (image layer) and a sheet from the Delightful Daisy DSP for the scalloped square border.
I also used this DSP for my second layer (first layer was Crumb Cake). Both layers were adhered to the card base after running a strip of Linen Thread around the embossed layer and under the focal image layer. I popped the focal image up with a few dimensionals.
