I played along with the #tictactoechallenge this week and I think I may have landed on two of the elements this time 🙂  (left down and left to right diagonal)!

I don’t usually send out cards for the New Year, but I have a feeling this year will be different! #neversaynever! 🙂  Here is my entry for this week’s challenge and it’s all about the GOLD!

This clean and simple card was a breeze to put together using some of the fabulous new products from the Holiday Catalog. I used the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to set the gold tone on the first layer.

After that, it was just a case of adding interest with more layers of gold! I used the gold dotted pattern from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate and added one of the Gold Foil Snowflakes with a Gold Faceted Gem to make the center pop!

Before adhering the layers to the Whisper White card base, I ran a strip of gold and whisper white ribbon around the center and tied a bow. This ribbon is not available anymore, but there are so many beautiful ribbons (including gold) to choose from in the annual and holiday catalog this year!

I used the ‘Celebrate’ sentiment from the Labels to Love stamp set and the Everyday Label Punch to crop it out. Before cropping, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark and then embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. I love using the heat tool and watching the ink come to life – this never gets old for me!  🙂
