Here’s a card that I made for the #tictactoechallenge  (#tttc010) this week. I really do love making these fun fold cards. My choice for this challenge was the  center/down and the elements were: emboss/fun fold/circles.

So here’s my card!

To make this gate fold card, I scored a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ at 2-1/8″ and 6-3/8″. So simple, right? I cut the layering pieces at 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ (2x) and 1-3/4″ x 5″ (2x). The Marina Mist pattern is from the Subtles DSP, and since one of my elements needed to be circles… that was an easy choice!

I used the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. But before I ran the folder through the Big Shot, I used a sponge dauber and ran Marina Mist ink over the folder for a ‘sponged’  look and also to highlight the polka dots (circles)!

I used my favorite Layering Circles Framelits Dies to cut out both a scalloped circle with Marina Mist card stock and a regular circle with Whisper White card stock. I stamped the happy birthday sentiment in Marina Mist. This sentiment was from the Milestone Moments stamp set.

I glued the front flap layers together, but before adhering all the layers to the card base, I ran a strip of Marina Mist Ribbon (I believe this ribbon is retired now 🙁  ) around the right flap. Then I adhered the sentiment layers to the left flap. I also adhered both the DSP pattern and a Whisper White layer to the inside of the card for fun! 🙂 One little Enamel Shaped heart did the trick in making the sentiment pop! And you know how I feel about naked envelopes… so more circles on the flap please! Circles, circles, circles! 🙂
