LOLLYPOP PAPER AND INK

Thinking of You Note Cards

I just love the Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Note Cards! And the Very Vanilla ones are just as adorable! They are the go-to when you need to create something quick, easy and thoughtful!Stampin' Up!, Daisy Delight Stamp Set, Colorful Seasons Stamp Set, Whisper White Note Cards, Masking Technique

I did these two versions of the same design for a workshop coming up this week. The one on the left was done with a mask. To make the mask, I cut a piece of vellum the actual size of the note card (5 x 3-1/2″) and used a square from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to cut out a medium sized square. I placed the die on the right side of the vellum before running it through the Big Shot.

Once I had the square opening, I used some painters tape to adhere it loosely to the note card and then I just stamped right over it! I used the small daisies from the Daisy Delight stamp set and I stamped the daisy tops in Sweet Sugarplum ink. Instead of using the ink pad for the stems, I used the Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker and just ran it over the raised part of the stamp. I think it made a finer image doing it that way.  🙂

Keeping the mask still attached to the note card, I used a sponge dauber and sponged around the perimeter of the flowered image in Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped the sentiment, which was from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum and added a small bow tied with Sweet Sugarplum Rouched Ribbon.

Just to finish it off… I used my Aqua Pen and after dipping it in the Sweet Sugarplum ink, lightly tapped it to get the light splattered effect!

The second card was done pretty much the same way – the only difference is that I didn’t use a mask, but a clear block instead for the squared off background. I used Daffodil Delight for this also. I think I like this one a little better. I purposely left off the bow on this one because I liked the simplicity of it! I would love to know which one is your favorite? 🙂
