LOLLYPOP PAPER AND INK

Floral Phrases ~ Wedding Congratulations

Two birds with one stone today…. MonoMonday and #tictactoechallenge#tttc003ย !!!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I am so excited to play along with these very talented designers from the Tic Tac Toe Challenge! I continue to be inspired by these paper crafters every single day! ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Today’s MonoMonday …. it’s a Pool Party all the way down the wedding aisle!

Stampin'Up!, Floral Phrases, MonoMonday, Pool Party, Wedding Wishes, Congratulations

Along with making this card for MonoMonday, this was my first entry into the Tic Tac Toe Challenge (#tttc003), where the necessary elements for the challenge were…Blue, Rectangle and Twine.

Stampin'Up!, Floral Phrases, MonoMonday, Pool Party, Wedding Wishes, Congratulations

This beautiful floral image, as well as the sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set. I used Pool Party ink throughout the project with both Pool Party card stock for the sentiment piece and a sheet of patterned Pool Party from the Subtles DSP for the card base layer.

There are several (rectangular) layers and here are the measurements:

  • Card base – With Vertical Orientation – 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Pool Party Patterned DSP – ย 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Whisper White Layer – 3-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
  • Pool Party Patterned DSP – 3-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
  • Whisper White Focal Image Layer – 3″ x 2″
  • Sentiment Pool Party Card Stock Layer –ย  4″ x 7/8″
  • Sentiment Whisper White Layer – 4″ x 5/8″

After I stamped the floral image in Pool Party, I went back and randomly filled in parts of the image with the Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker. I also added a little clear Wink of Stella to some areas of the flower (…really hard to see that though ๐Ÿ™ )

After I arranged all the layers to my liking, I wrapped a few rounds of white twine around the end of the sentiment piece and tied a triple bow. I adhered the white layer of the focal image directly to the DSP, but for the top two layers, I used some dimensionals around the perimeter to make the floral image layer pop even more! ย ๐Ÿ™‚

My finishing touches were a string of pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels and just a few teeny tiny pearls were added randomly around the card. I also finished the envelope flap off by adhering a piece of the Pool Party DSP and trimming around the flap. (You know how I feel about naked envelopes ๐Ÿ™‚ )!!! ย I added some additional matting to the inside of the card and stamped the “Wedding Wishes’ sentiment from the Floral Phrases by just popping it inside the top right corner of the card…leaving plenty of space for someone to leave their own special message!

  1. Lori, I love your take on the challenge! Pool Party is such a soft and lovely choice for a wedding card and I LOVE all of your layers! I also love that you dressed up your envelope as well as the inside of the card…I try to do both with every card I make so I appreciate the extra effort! That string of pearls is delicious and balance perfectly by the rustic-y (is that even a word?) feel of the baker’s twine. Darling, darling card! Thanks for playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week!
