Well, today is the first of a Monday series that I’m calling…

So every Monday, I will have a card using  a monochromatic color scheme using various stamp sets and ink colors! Today, I am using one of my favorites, the Wood Words Bundle. The bundle consists of the Wood Words Stamp Set and the Wood Crate Framelits Dies, and of course, purchasing the bundle saves you 10% as opposed to buying them separately!

As I’m sure you guessed by now, using the Wood Words Bundle leaves me wide open for a monochromatic look with these beautiful browns, beiges and white. So here it is…

The wood paper here is from the Wood Textures DSP (but the checkered paper is from a retired DSP). I used Crumb Cake Ink for all the stamping and added a few embellishments like the white doily and the Linen Thread.

The measurements are card base: 5-1/2 x 4-1/4, solid brown layer, 5-3/8 x 4-1/8, checkered layer 5-1/4 x 2-1/4, and the wood layer is 5-1/2 x 2-1/8.

Once you decide to do a monochromatic color scheme, I feel it really allows you to focus on the design and not worry so much about coordinating colors. Just let it grow organically from the simple papers you choose. I hope you liked today’s Mono Monday Card!
