I wanted to do a picture tutorial on a gatefold card, and I liked the result of this card too much to use it JUST for demonstration purposes. And like I mentioned in my March Newsletter, in honor of my daughter having her first baby – very soon….I deemed the month of March to be all about BABIES! And I guess it’s no coincidence that her nursery colors are gray and mint green! 🙂
I will post the tutorial separately for the measurements of the gatefold card. So, once you have the paper cut and scored and the layers cut, it’s really just building your layers.
I used some gray patterned paper from both the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP and A Little Foxy DSP Stack to layer onto the card base. Before adhering the top layer on the right side, I ran a strip of Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim and glued the ends to the back side of the top layering piece.
I used a small die from the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies and ran that through the Big Shot after stamping it in Smokey Slate ink with the ‘hello, baby’ sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp set.
I used both Whisper White and Mint Macaron card stock to get the two circles to sit behind the bear image. Both the scalloped circle and the regular circle are from the Layering Circles Framelits.
I used the Baby Bear stamp set for the bear image. Although it is a three stamp process, I only used two stamps as I thought the last step wasn’t necessary in this case. This three step process is really great and gives you the option of using one, two or three different color inks. For this card, I only used the Mint Macaron and it came out just as I hoped.
Once I stamped and fussy cut the bear image, I adhered it to the layering circles and then to the left flap of the front of the card. I stamped the bow image from the same stamp set in Smokey Slate ink and then used the Holly Berry Builder Punch (Holiday Catalog) to punch out the adorable bow.

I am having a little anxiety over this already! 🙂 Here are the others that will officially retire with the catalog end of May, but I am certain that the supplies will not last that long. So, do like me… and stock up on your favorites, because once they’re gone — they’re gone!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you get a chance to visit again soon!
Happy Stamping!
