LOLLYPOP PAPER AND INK

Basket Bunch – Thanks a Bunch

This card started out as a project for my stamp class at the local Senior Center. Well, I got half way through the card and realized that it was just too much cutting and coloring for them! 🙁 Since I could never leave a card half done – well, you know I just had to finish it up and share. 🙂

Basket Bunch, Thanks a Bunch

This card was made from the new Basket Bunch Bundle. Say that three times fast! 🙂

I stamped the basket and handle first and ran them through the Big Shot. Then, I stamped a bunch of flowers (big and small) on a piece of Whisper White card stock, not knowing yet how many I would need. I stamped the flowers in Chocolate Chip ink, but I think next time, it would be better to stamp with Archival ink so you don’t have to be so careful about lines blurring when you add the ink or water pencils. Another option would be to just use regular colored pencils! 🙂 I stamped the leaves and the bow in Wild Wasabi ink. And later added some Wild Wasabi ink with an Aqua Marker onto the leaves and bow.

For filling in the flowers with color, you could just use regular colored pencils or dip a blender pen in some ink and fill in that way. My preference is to use an Aqua Marker, but again, you need to be careful with blurring the lines if you are not using a permanent ink.

Basket Bunch, Thanks a Bunch

After I had all the flowers and leaves colored, I ran them through the Big Shot. Then, I just placed them in and around the basket and glued them with the fine tip glue pen.

I used the Wild Wasabi card stock  for the grass and adhered it to the So Saffron card stock (used three cuts from the die for the grass) and attached that layer piece to the Kraft card base. Then, I adhered the basket (with flowers) right over the grass.

I cut and glued a piece of burlap ribbon to the top of the card stock and added a ‘Thanks a Bunch’ sentiment from the Basket Bunch stamp set using Pumpkin Pie ink (to pick up the color of one of the flowers). I popped the bow onto the left side of the banner and two more flowers on the bottom left corner of the card stock and I was done!

It really wasn’t hard to do…. just may have been a little too much for my friends at the center! :-). Here is a sneak peek at the card I did make up for them. I’ll be posting this one on the blog soon.
