I made these cards for a friend of mine who is expecting another grand baby. The parents do not want to know the sex of the baby beforehand, so Mimi asked me to make up both a boy and girl card so she is prepared either way!
The three step bear stamps are from the Baby Bear stamp set. I used the 3 color combos of Tip Top Taupe, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand. There are endless combinations that I have seen used to make the most wonderful colorful baby bears! If you only have two colors, you can just stamp ‘off’ for the lightest color. I used patterned paper from the Subtles DSP to keep it a clean and simple background.
For the blue card, I decided to run only the back of the card through the Big Shot with the Cable Knit embossing folder. It gave it just the right amount of texture and added some weight to the card. I loved the way it came out.
For the pink card, I still used the Subles DSP pack, but I added a little weight with a Crumb Cake card stock layer to coordinate with the Crumb Cake ink on the bear. And I embellished the card a little with a tiny pink bow for her head and a small sheer pink ribbon over the sentiment.
The sentiment reads ‘…the world just got cuter’ and this is from the Made with Love stamp set.
