Welcome to the Pals March 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Spring has Sprung”. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will inspire you with Spring or Spring-related projects. You may see floral, Easter or other general Spring-inspired designs. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
This stamp set called, Blossoming Basket is the perfect addition to your collection of spring and floral stamp sets! And the fact that it is a FREE set that is part of a bundle (Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder) with a qualifying purchase of $100 just makes it over-the-top perfection!
The image was stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Shimmery White card stock. I love to use my Aqua Painter to add just a touch of color to the image – with very little effort. I used Calypso Coral and Flirty Flamingo ink for the floral image and Sahara Sand for the basket. Using this watercoloring technique allows you to really control the richness of the desired color.
Although this stamp set has two beautiful sentiments, I chose a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and stamped it with Calypso Coral ink to pick up the underneath layer of DSP from the Delightful Daisy DSP. I cropped out the sentiment in a tag shape and inked up the edges with a sponge dauber using Calypso Coral ink.
I added a bow of Linen Thread to the top of the basket image and attached a short strand to the tag to look like it was connected. I added a few Calypso Coral Enamel Dots and that was it! I hope you liked my card project today!
